An open sketchbook spread lying on a smooth, dark stone surface, its creamy pages filled edge-to-edge with refined ornamental studies: arabesques, acanthus leaves, lace-like borders, and abstract glyphs that hint at a secret script. Beside it rests a single onyx-black fountain pen with a gold nib, placed parallel to the page margin. Soft, cool daylight from an unseen window washes in from the left, creating gentle highlights on the ink lines and subtle shadows along the page’s slight warp. The digital-art rendering mimics tactile realism while maintaining a clean, controlled aesthetic. Shot from a slightly elevated angle with moderate depth of field, the focus is sharp on the center of the spread, blurring delicately toward the edges. The atmosphere is studious, intimate, and quietly luxurious.

Yurisole is a studio devoted to illustration where every ornament is treated as a readable mark—rich with symbolism, rhythm, and story. Explore a portfolio of borders, patterns, and flourishes that turn books, brands, and objects into visual narratives.

About Yurisole

Yurisole is an illustrator and ornamental designer exploring how lines, motifs, and patterns can speak like language. Influenced by illuminated manuscripts, textile design, and handwritten scripts, their work balances intricate detail with clear structure. Each commission begins with research into the client’s story, translating themes, histories, and emotions into a visual grammar of borders, symbols, and repeating forms that feel both timeless and deeply specific.

A circular ornamental mandala rendered as digital art, composed of layered, architectural flourishes that blend Gothic tracery, Art Nouveau curves, and minimal geometric spokes. The lines are a refined warm gray, with select segments infilled by muted jewel tones—deep sapphire, smoked emerald, and garnet—creating a restrained, sophisticated palette. The mandala rests precisely centered on an off-white, subtly textured paper-like background that suggests fine stationery. Even, diffused lighting ensures no harsh shadows, allowing every minuscule detail to remain legible. The mood is meditative and intellectual, evoking ornament as a constructed system, almost like a visual language diagram. The composition is perfectly symmetrical, with wide margins that make the design feel curated, as if mounted within an invisible museum frame.
A close-up, almost architectural view of an ornate corner motif, as if extracted from the margin of an illuminated manuscript and magnified. Interlocking tendrils, stylized blossoms, and fine line hatching form a sophisticated right-angle design in burnished copper tones against a midnight blue background with a soft gradient. Digital-art rendering highlights beveled edges and subtle embossing, making the ornament feel slightly raised from the surface. Directional side lighting from the right creates narrow, elegant shadows that emphasize depth and craftsmanship. The camera angle is straight-on, focusing tightly on the corner so the lines appear to radiate beyond the frame. The atmosphere is luxurious, scholarly, and slightly mysterious, suggesting a fragment of a larger, eloquent ornamental language yet to be deciphered.

Client Voices

Aya Nakamura

Yurisole translated my vague idea of “ornamental language” into a fully realized illustration system for our poetry book. Every flourish feels intentional, echoing the rhythm of the text while adding its own quiet narrative. The collaboration was thoughtful, punctual, and deeply respectful of our publishing deadlines.

Studio Kandel

We commissioned Yurisole to develop a series of decorative motifs for a boutique identity. The patterns move gracefully across print, web, and packaging, giving us a recognizable visual voice without feeling repetitive. Clear communication and beautiful process sketches made approvals effortless.

— Mateo García

Marin Press

Our limited-edition classics needed ornamentation that honored tradition without feeling nostalgic. Yurisole crafted intricate borders, drop caps, and chapter emblems that feel like part of the text itself. Collectors mention the ornament first when they talk about these books, which says everything.
